Hello, I have two young male guinea pigs one named Charlie and the second Gar. They have a 4x4 enclosure and for about half of the time they seem to get along fine. For the other half of the time it seems that Charlie bullies Gar and they even teeth chatter or in worst cases will briefly lunge at each other. I’ve noticed that Charlie has pulled out Gar’s hair twice in the past two weeks and am definitely considering separating them but am aware that sometimes they both can get along. When I first tried bonding them they did fight but I separated them and tried again later and they got along or so it seemed. Can anyone please give me some advice on what to do? Is there any way that I can save their bond or should I immediately separate them?

I’m sorry to hear this.

If you are seeing more than normal dominance then it is possible their bond is dysfunctional and failing.
You cannot save a bond - it is up to the pigs to like each other and have compatibility. If they fought at bonding then a reintroduction would not have been recommended.
