I am now up to 8 pigs lol~ Everytime we go to the pet store my mom finds a pig she likes and makes me buy one >_< Oh also I found out that unfortunately the stupid store missexed edward >_< so more coming soon probably. I won't ever trust them again... I researched how to tell for myself now so I am pretty confident I can tell, I used my guinea pigs as test subjects.

Anyway I was wondering if I have enough cage space for my guinea pigs.

I have Mocha and Moo and moo's 2 babies in a cage like this

39.5" x 20" x 14.5" is its size

Then I have another cage with Eddy, Cinnamon and Abby that is the same type and size. I like them because my darn cat can't bug them as easily.

and Teddy I am sure is fine because he is alone in a wire cage just a little bit shorter than those ones but maybe slightly wider, and he is still just a little boy.

I found a neighbor that has a rabbit cage he doesn't use since rabbits are banned in my town that he will sell me cheap so I will probably go get that today ;D That way I have a spare cage incase any of my pigs decide to have a problem with each other.

That cage or anything that size is to small especially with 4 pigs in it,that particular style also have poor ventilation which is a breeding ground for fungal infections and URI's,they are yet another product that petshops endorse for more money:(
C&C cages would be best if you can build them they are quite simple too
here are cage ideas and sizes

You can build C&C's that are cat proof too

they really need bigger cages so until you extend these cages i wouldnt get any more xx

why are rabbits banned?

the cage you are showing looks a little tight for 4, i have to agree with Bonnie on that. I can see your point though regarding your cat and I guess safety will have to come first. Depending on the bedding you use, you will have to be most careful about changing litter as aften as you can to avoid parasitic issues.

they are regarded as pests:(,to much threat to nature if they escape and breed,I'm allowed to have them in my state but QLD has laws against it,its not worth even trying because if they find ut they put the animal to sleep:(
there are dog/cat/kid proofcages on cavy cages website so it should be simple to give them more room;)

its only 4 for now cause the babies were just born. I clean my cages every 2 days. Right now we live in a rented house so I am waiting till we have our own house before I get new cages. Not much space X_X

Rabbits are banned because someone had a few and when he moved away from here he let them go and they bred and had a billion babies that were ruining peoples gardens lol.

i guess it's more a lack of predators than a problem with rabbits, per se... Shame.
