Do Guinea Pigs Get Warts?

I noticed a small growth on Lucky a few months ago. I thought it was a nipple but it has gotten bigger over time. Here’s a picture:



It looks like a wart. Can guinea pigs get them? What do you do with them?

Hi! Warts are very rare in guinea pigs. This looks like cyst to me; you may want to have it vet checked.

G P's can be prone to all sorts of lumps and bumps, in my experience few are life threatening, ! though it's always safest to get your vet to examine it

It’s unlikely to be anything serious. Looks like a cyst to me, it always best to get the vet to check it out. Usually if it’s a cyst then they will leave it alone unless it’s causing problems.

Does it need to get checked out straight away or is it okay to keep an eye on it?
Lucky doesn’t seem bothered by it at all.
It looks exactly like the wart my boyfriend has on his elbow, it has a bumpy texture like cauliflower.

Unless it is growing very quickly, it is fine to have it seen during regular opening hours. I would however not wait too long and have it checked in the next week or two.
