Hi noticed yesterday that Fudge's nipples looked odd like large and sort of swollen-ish. She doesn't seem in any pain at all I've poked and pushed on them (I am sorry little Fudge) she is eating vigorously and drinking normal her poops are normal and now I feel like I am being a hypochondriac...

But this morning I noticed that there is this crusty stuff on her nipples which you can see in this picture below. (She is a little tubby naturally, I weighed her when I first got her and she weighed more than Leo a male)

Sorry if I am just a crazy worried piggie mum!

Leeland's nips are much thinner but longer normally. It's hard to say without seeing what she looked like 2 months ago kind of thing. I think all pigs have slightly different nips.

I would have her checked quick for Ovarian cysts (just to be super super careful). When DT got them she went mega round, her nips poked out more and she lost hair between them. Though there was no crust thankfully.

Dont want to freak you out, but with Leeland having them now I'm on the super alert.

I worried about cysts too. So maybe a vets trip would be needed I just wasn't sure if I was just being over worried.

I always say if you're looking at your pig with knitted eyebrows... its a quickie at the vet :p But then Leeland is my magical medical mystery meepit!

I know it was an odd question and thing to post, but that is exactly how they look in person. What would the crusty bits be?

My Rosie has just been treated for ovarian cysts, and her nipples were quite large too.
If she hasn't any adverse symptoms even if she has cysts shr may not be actively treated, I think i have heard. A vets trip will help put your mind at rest.
Also I love her cute ginger and white tummy :)

The large nips could be put down to past littering - but even if she has been pregnant previously, the current crusty bits and swollen tummy are indicative of cystic ovaries.......Vets visit is called for methinks!

As far as I know Fudge has never been pregnant since I have only owned her since January and she is 5 years old I wouldn't really know. But I do know that when she was brought she was brought with what was thought to be her sister but it in fact turned out to be her brother but I have no idea if she got pregnant.

I second Dusty_bugs, I would take a trip to the vet. Does she look and act well on all ends besides this? Did her nips just start to look like this or did you just notice it? I would think cysts also but it could just be from having babies. One of my fur babies has four nipples. Keep us posted, thanks! :) L

Please have her seen by a vet re. cysts. Nowadays there are more options to treating them than a spay.

She is fine otherwise. Wee's and poops are all good. Appetite is normal (like you feed her a portion and she wants more!) her activaty is amazing wheaking and bouncing about.
Yeah I just noticed it a few days ago now. Like she doesn't seem sore on them but they seem really pink and warm like how the ears go when they are hot and also a bit puffy with the tiny bit of white crusty stuff on them.

I second Wiebke
I have had personal experience with treating cysts. Rosie has just had a course of chorulon (hormone) injections, and her symptoms (hairloss) have completely improved she has a lovely furry belly now.
My vet discussed spaying if it wasn't to work but touchwood it seems to have worked. :)

Agreed with above, possible cysts so would get her a quick check over. Beautiful piggie tummy by the way Fudge x)
