DIY Carrot Cottage

Looking at the carrot cottage, is it simply a cardboard box with carrot and hay on it?

I would love to make one of these myself but I'm confused as to what could be used to stick the hay and carrot on? What do the commercially made ones use!? Does anyone know?

I know it’s made of edible parchment board... not sure it’s the same thing as a cardboard box though?
All the ingredients say is hay, parchment board, dried carrot and vegetable starch....
