So I had to clean my two cages, and i put Walter and Cornflake together in a little box, just unti; i'd cleaned the cages, and they seemed to get along fine, so I decided to put them both in Walter's cage. I cleaned it rel good, and they were getting a long, until i put them in the cage. 0___0 it was like the cage poisessed them and they became very angry little rodent mammal thing...
Their cages have been side by side for like 2 weeks and they always chewed the bars, and squeaked at eachother, like they wanted to be put together. So when they started fighting i obviously seperated them, but then i decided to divide the cage into two with a grid, so I did and put them both on a seperate side. They're fine now, they aren't trying to guinea punch them through the grid they just smell eachother. is it okay to have it like that? any housing arrangements they have right now are temporary anyways, cause when i get home they're going into a two level hutch (whether they like it or not... {:|) i figured by splitting the cage they might get used to eachother faster.

I think it would work. Just make sure the space is of a good size. Hope all goes well with bonding the pigs.

well both of their cages are tiny, they have to deal with it for just another week, then they'll have a HUGE cage.

I'm going to add my two cents into this weather you listen or try it is up to you...

1. Since your cage is now divided by a grid let Walter live on side A and Cornflake on side B for like 2 days and then flip them then let Walter live in side B etc for two more days. Then after that they will both have whatever scents they can pick up on them. and will smell alike. Then on day 4 or so take out the center grid. Please remember not to separate unless blood is drawn because every time they are introduced they have to re-establish the alpha male.

2. Change the cage and maybe wash it out with white vinegar (read somewhere that this will remove smells) and then while the cage is drying put your boys into a bath and wash them together with the same smelling soap so that they smell the same then while they're drying off put your cage back together but not in the same order... a completely different order so that everything is new and the area is different. Put loads of hay and treats in the cage so that they have something good to bond over.

3. Make sure there is two of everything and no hideys without two exits.

Can't wait to see more pictures of your boys! They are sooo cute!
