Dividing C And C Cage As Pigs Are Fighting.

I wonder if anyone has any ideas on how to best modify a 4 x 2 Cage so 2 piggies can live separately

For the short term I have a divider giving them a 2 x 2 each

I don't really want to go down separate floors, but wonder if anything else could be built using lofts. For example 1 x 2 at each end?

Piggies get the run of the living room floor most evenings and are fine together. But once they are back in the cage in the youngest chases the other around all the time therefore I am hoping its only temporary.

You cannot split a cage that size as it is too small. I would increase it to 3 by 5 at least.

I agree with Piggy fan, a 2 x 2 does not provide enough space for one pig, if you can fit a 2x6 and give each pig a 2x3 that'd be brilliant :-)

I've had to do this and whilst obviously a 2x2 is too small, I've not the room nor the money to expand. Like you I was caught unprepared for the fall out and have had to make do, I should be upgrading to a bigger cage very soon though (depending if I can pay my rent!).

Mine have managed in a 2x2, I give them 3-4 hours of floor time a day each so they're not getting overweight or anything I imagine you feel bad about having to downsize to a 2x2, I do as well. But sometimes that's the only option for the short term!

I did not really want to go down the avenue of 2 floors of 2 x 6, but it looks like its my only option.

Piggies have been a little nicer tonight, but have now divided them again just incase. Daft thing is they are sitting next to each other either side of the mesh kissing

Chasing is just a sign of dominance. Unless they are full blown fighting, I would not separate them.
