I am about to get a male guinea pig to add to my group of four girls, how could I divide a 2 by 6 C and C cage so my girls have room to move and he has room to move to.

I think you might need to provide a bit more information as I'm not clear what you mean.
Do you mean how can you divide the cage temporarily so the guinea pigs can get used to each other before introducing them? I assume the male has been neutered?

I dont think a 6×2 can be divided to give a male and the girls adequate living space at all, even temporarily... even a very minimal and very temporary space for 1 piggy would be 2x2, and you definitely cannot cram 4 piggies into a 4x2 space- that's the minimum size for just 2!
Hopefully this is just a temporary living arrangement until your boy is neutered and can join his ladies but even so the ladies need to keep their 6x2 space, perhaps you could buy a cheap 120×60 pet shop cage for your boy to live next door? Or create a temporary 2x2 or ideally 3x2 annex to the main cage with some extra grids?

:agr:
Dividing a 6x2 and giving them all enough space won’t work - they just won’t have enough room. You will need a separate cage for the boy while he awaits being neutered and then for the six weeks wait after neutering before he becomes infertile.
A cage for an unneutered boy needs to be very secure. A boar can become very athletic in the presence of females and some have been known to climb the bars to get into the girls cage, which is obviously not something you want want to happen.

:agr: With the advice given above.

6x2 is the minimum for your 4 sows. You can’t divide it to provide space for any extra piggies. If you’re planning to add a neutered boar or any extra piggy you’ll need to extend your cage accordingly.

my advice would be as above also about the risk of an intact or not yet 6 weeks post op boar getting into your sows and impregnating one of all of them.

You’d be better to extend your cage and then book a bonding session at a rescue to be sure the neutered boar will be accepted. It’s not a given that your sows will accept one. If you simply get a boar and get him neutered then you run the risk of a failed bonding and needing a Plan B

Thanks all.

I will put him in a cage by himself, till I can get him neutered and for the six week wait.

Haven't got rescues that can help me with it I have tried that.

Hello everyone.

If I was going to divide a 2 by 6 C and C cage , could I have a pair living up each end?

Isn't this the same query you put on your other post earlier in the day with the same title?
Were you confused about the responses you received? If so, I would advise you to ask for further clarification on the original post otherwise things could get confusing!

Hi @PIGGIES FOREVER I have merged your two threads. Please keep all queries relating to the same issue to one thread. Not only does this help you as all the advice is in one place but it helps those giving advice as they can see what you have already been told
