Poor little Sean seems to be suffering from some very runny poops at the moment. He's scampering about fine and seems happy enough but things are definately not right with his tummy. I've had to bath him and his cage mate this morning as they are on vet bed and their feet and Seans tummy were really dirty. I did'nt give them any greens at all yesterday in hopes that would help but it looks like he was just the same through the night.
I changed the vet bed yesterday and have changed it again this morning. I'm going to phone the vets in a min just wondering if anyone on here had any advice? Thanks for reading.

It might be that he has had too many green vegetables in the last couple of days. I would stop the veg and fruit for a day or so and keep feeding him dry food and plenty of hay.

If you have any it would be worth giving him some re-hydration formula until you get to the vets. You can buy the sachets in any chemist.
Good luck at the vets!

Oke doke. I'll keep my eye on him. If he was listless or anything he'd be straight to the vets but he's happily popcorning about and driving his cage mate crazy as usual! I think i'll keep him off the greens then for a few days.

sean and Diarrhoea

here are some links which i hope you find useful, like others have said would just give hay and grass until settled and syringe water to prevent dehaydration and perhaps a probiotic to help his tummy. here are the links. hugs to you and the lovely sean.:rose:rose:rose

Hi all, The poops seem to have gotten a bit more solid but we have a new problem, this is kinda gross so i'm a little embarrased for the poor wee fella. :red

The poops seem to be sticking to his bum, i had to help one out before i went to work with some warm damp cotton wool and clean him up around that end? Is this just because they are not the right consistency still? My OH thinks it might be because they are a bit sticky.

poor sean

could be because they are sticky, but make sure it is not impaction which male piggies can get here are some links about impaction.

if he is having trouble with poops, i would keep him inside to protect him against flystrike. just keep him clean and keep him on grass, hay and perhaps some probiotics to help him and his poops.
sending hugs to sean, maybe some poops from wendy may help him if he will eat them. good luck :rose:rose:rosexx>>>xx>>>xx>>> come on sean you get better soon. girls send x>>x>>

Thanks for the links, very helpful. They are indoor piggies at least so dont have to worry about fly strike too much. I'm toddling off to bed now but i have a day off wrk tomorrow so at least i can keep my eye on him all day. He seems to be eating dry food and hay ok so i'll pick him some grass tomorrow too see if that helps any.

Just thought i'd update .. The little fella is much better today, clean bum and feet and he's eating and drinking happily. Thanks for all your help. Clare and Sean xx
