If money were no object and you were starting from scratch, what would your dream piggy accommodation look like/ have?
I am trying to redesign my current set up and, although cost is a consideration in this case (!), I would love some ideas as to what would make the ideal set up. Thanks in advance! :)

That's not a question for this piggy slave lol. My family would have to move out for the changes!

There's tons of great cages both in and out on this site and if you search sites like pinterest, you can get really so many ideas. I am pretty happy with how the cages are now honestly for the guinea pigs. I sew new fleece add-ons and and liners for the fleece designs and go with maybe holidays. I would truly love dependable cage bottles that don't start leaking after some months......ah, dreams......:-). Tried all kinds of 'leak-free' ones with great reviews but they aren't doing it for us.

One of the members here; @Flutterby has an amazing home with her guinea pigs at the center and I love seeing her pics. If you haven't see them, it can give you ideas. Lots of the cages have the little fairy lights and they are very cute. It's a possibility but when fall comes I'm thinking to do some fun halloween things for the cage.

Mine would be in a cool shed with loads of ramps and toys. They would have an outdoor area were they could graze on fresh grass everyday.
I'm really torn - mine are inside at the moment which I love for the contact etc - but I could potentially build them a brilliant outdoor area (shed/run) which would mean they would have loads more space and permanent outside access :)

Would a self cleaning one be a possibility as I'd buy that?

I was thinking last night when I was cleaning the cages about how many times I must have cleaned out pig cages. I've had pigs for over 20 years. That's a lot of time and bin bags!

Ha ha, yes a self cleaning cage would be ideal! But certainly, easy to clean would be a key consideration. I found that when I increased my cage sizes last time the cleaning got easier so I'm thinking the more space the better....also, if they can spend time outside every day hopefully they would create less mess inside!

Bigger is definitely easier! I remember the days of trying to clean out my hutches in the cramped shed. My C&C is so much easier.

I love my piggy room (although they are now encroaching on the living room too) I just wished I had another downstairs to devote to them too lol!

Like @teddymouse I'm putting the final touches to mine
Mines an outside shed customed built for piggies with a secure run attached, with light and heat and opening windows and a stable door. It’s my piggie dream :luv:

I would turn the biggest room in the house into a piggy play room with lots of tunnels, hideys and zoomie space.
It would be fleece lined and have lots of sea grass tunnels or houses for them to chew on and play in.
There would be places for food bowls and hay all around the room.

Somehow don’t think husband will go for this plan!

I would love an outdoor shed with a piggy garden attached. My problem is outdoor space and Scottish weather though. They really need to be inside at least some of the time.
I've been thinking recently about a mid height cabin bed frame with my pair in a c&c built into the bed part, and the trio with a larger c&c on the floor underneath. Some come with a chute which could be covered and act as a ramp for the upstairs piggies to run down for floor time.
