It's something that me and even my boyfriend has noticed but Pecan doesn't seem her normal self... Is it possible that the changing seasons could make a guinea feel out of touch in a sense. She doesn't come out of the sleep bit much anymore but still munches on any greens we give her and is eating normally.

Can piggies can winter blues?

Her weight seems the same as usual her coat is glossy and eyes bright. She's still noisy as ever and mounts the other girls occasionally. I'm pretty sure last year she went a bit funny but did snap out of it eventually.

I don't think the seasons really affect pigs, if you have noticed that she is not her usual self it is best to get her to the vets for a check up.

Like Helen says it's worth a vet check. Usually a subtle change in mood is the first indicator that something is wrong as piggies hide physical signs really well.

They don't get depressed like we do and don't have seasonal downs and ups, that's reserved for us hoomans. The main time they exhibit depression is when grieving which can be quite extreme in some cases. If there has been no loss of a mate then consider medical causes...
