Hello,
My Guinea Pig has been having issues with his teeth which has lead me to find a new vet who are able to perform dentals. He frequently needs his incisors filing and this has lead to spurs growing on his back teeth in the past. The vet I was registered with had made him worse which resulted in me having to take a 7 and a half hour round trip to Northampton to get him well again. Can anybody recommend a vet that perform dentals well on Guinea Pigs? I live in St Helens and I am looking for somewhere within a 50 mile radius. The vets in Northampton are fantastic, it's just too far :(

the Cat and Rabbit Clinic in Northampton are the best! I know it’s a long way, we used to travel a 600 mile round trip to get our Ted a conscious dental, him having spurs. I personally wouldn’t go anywhere else with dental piggies as I have experienced the results of a badly performed dental and the damage that can be done.

Have a look at the vet locator. It will show you where trusted vets for guinea pigs are near you. I hope this helps and you find the help you need for your piggy :)

Thank you for your help :) Unfortunately, the vet in question is included on the locator so I'm a little apprehensive to try another vet without recommendations :/

During Lockdown 1, we took Meg on a 5 hour round trip to Northampton as my vet (usually excellent with guinea pigs) couldn't find out what was wrong with her. Kim diagnosed the problems in 10 minutes. We only went there twice as this is all that was needed.

We have had a very good dental experience at Vets4Pets Penny Lane, Liverpool, not too far from St Helens- head vet Dr Claire Bertram did an amazing job on Blodwen's teeth when she arrived with us with 6 overgrown molars and a misaligned jaw because her teeth grow faster on one side than the other :)
