Hi guys, my little Wilma has slightly overgrown back tooth and she can't eat. She has other health issues so she can't have anesthesia so I was doing my research on what our options are and found out that Simon at the cat and rabbit clinic does conscious dentals. Could you please let me know if your piggy ever had back tooth filled down without any anesthetic as my vet told me it's impossible but after reading so many reviews that Simon does it I don't know who to believe. Thank you for your help

We had a piggy called Duke come in to our rescue who had a conscious dental with Simon. He was too weak to go under anaesthetic as he was so so thin, he did amazingly after a visit to Simon! He recovered really well and was rehomed soon after. He just passed away at a grand old age!
I believe Simon saved Duke's life!

Thank you so much for reassurance.

You're welcome! I think if there's no other option to try then it's definitely worth a go. Simon and Kim are just amazing with guinea pigs.

My Ted had very successful conscious dentals for a spur on one of this back teeth. Simon and Kim are amazing and the go to vets for anything dental related or otherwise. We used to travel a 600 miles round trip and every mile was worth it to see Ted happy, healthy and eating properly
Give them a ring and see if you need a referral from your vet or not? Conscious dentals are much cheaper and safer too with no GA after effects. I think they may be away on holiday though around 25th August (that week) They do release emergency appts at 8.00 am but you may have to be registered? Do give them all call and find out what you need to do to get an appt for her
Good luck x There phone number. 01604 478888

Another vote for Simon and Kim from me. My Edward is currently under the care of Simon and Kim for an infected incisor. Both Simon and Kim have performed concious dentals on him. Granted, he doesn't have a problem with his back teeth so I can't comment on that but they are both amazing vets. I just phoned up and the receptionist registered me there and then and booked me an appointment. Not sure if you still need a referral or if I was just lucky.

They are currently on holiday and also week commencing 22nd August as Edward had an appointment on the 25th but it's had to be put back to the 30th.

I live over 200 miles away but am lucky that Edward and my 3 girls are currently being cared for by my friend who lives close to the clinic and is a member of this forum @furryfriends (TEAS) who runs a sanctuary for guinea pigs with dental issues also sometimes does boarding for dental pigs who live far away when she has the space and time

yes @furryfriends (TEAS) does offer boarding to piggies who live far away, my Ted stayed for 3 months over the Covid lock down and couldn’t have been better looked after with Debbie, she is so experienced
