well we've done it. Went shopping and i said to Dee "don't stress we've got time (4 months) we'll see what's around. Well it was interesting we went 45-50 mins from home and saw some great gowns, one in particular was absolutely stunning errr for the sum of $750.00 just to hire it :o :o :o
We went to many places, Allan was our lovely taxi driver he never ever came in which is what we wanted.... not being rude but he's not got taste ::)
No success.........decide to look locally just to see what they have, OMG we've found the dress. Because Dee is a mature 16 year old she can't be dressed up in frills and such she looks wrong, i love all that on the right person, but not for Dee. Lady at shop will alter dress to be even all the way around and she will reduce the under skirt so it's not as full as Dee being tall and broad it's not a good look.
I've not told her yet......but i had tears in my eyes as she looked absolutely stunning...
I'm sure all the other mum's will relate to this too .... all the best of luck :)

Awww, i bet she looks lovely, I know what you mean about certain people not looking right in frills as my daughter is the same. :smitten:

I hope she has a great evening, albeit 4 months away ;D

Pics later on when it's ready?

Ooops :o :o i forget our Aussie terms can get lost on you all, don't mean to do that to you, sorry :-* :-*
Yep ball prom thingy... yes will post piccies just for you all, thanks for listening :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Aww you will have to post a picture of her in it :) My daughter missed the payment deadline for her prom I was gutted was so looking forward to seeing her look so stunning. We had picked her dress out and it was so nice with not a frill in sight.

I've heard about this dress. It sounds gorgeous :smitten:

Can't wait to see Dee in it.

I hope Duke will approve :smitten:

Oh Duke will be proud of him mummy, she looks stunning in it.....she's excited still bubbly this morning. Picked up some kids this morning cause we saw them walking to school and the first thing Dee said to the girl was "i've got my dress" her brother just looked at them and raised his eyebrows. LOL

I can't wait to see the pictures - :-*
I used to spend whole days trying on dresses with my grandmother before she died - I miss that kind of relationship with a female relative. My mum is fab but more of a 'Goodlife Barbara' look & wouldn't entertain even trying on a dress which was out of a price range bless her!

I bet your daughter loves having you as a mum.
