I think my neighbours son has got the days I’m away mixed up . As they I noticed they had been in my house and fed my guinea pigs when I had already feed them today. Will it matter if they got fed twice today and tommorow. Can I just give them less food in the morning before I leave

I’m sure it will be fine. As long as your neighbours son knows how long he has to look after them for. You don’t want him not coming in while you are away. Can you call him and reaffirm your plans?

I don’t have his number I’m away from Tommorow morning until the 27th

I really think you should at least have his number so you can contact him while you are away! Does he have yours? He needs yours in case of emergency. I’d go round this evening and swap telephone numbers and tell him how long you will be away. 👍🏻👍🏻

He dosent where I stay he stays in a different area of Aberdeen. I told his mum I was away from the 23rd till the 27th . I have wrote my number on a note with instructions

:agr: I would get his number in case of anything. It’s a good idea to give him your number on a note. Could you contact the neighbour to get his?

When you said a neighbour I thought you meant he lived very close. Is his mum your neighbour? Give her your details too and the dates you will be away so she can maybe check he’s going in every day.

I don’t have either of there numbers . I have left a note with my number and instructions

My neighbour is away till Boxing Day. Her son is looking after her house. I already told her the dates maybe she got muddled

I agree with the above posters. Make sure you have his number and that he knows you are away until the 27th. It's also a good idea for him to have the details of your vet should your pigs need to see a vet whilst in his care. As for your question, I'm sure they will be fine being fed twice

I would definitely write on the note and get him to text/call you so you have his number also.…just in case something happens and you end up not being able to get back for example, and need him to look after them for a bit longer . You never know - better to have a contingency and not need it

I’ve written my number on note in case any problems

Great he has your number but what if you need to get in touch with him? If you have to stay on for a couple of days? What if you get covid and have to stay away for a week longer? How will he know? You won’t be able to get in touch. Your piggies could die. You need his number too!

I don’t think I’ll get covid. I’m sure things will be fine xx

Hopefully you won’t and there won’t be any emergencies but simply having his number would just be the safest thing all round - swapping numbers and leaving your vet’s phone number with him would just be normal planning measures when leaving pets in somebody else’s care
