I have a Texel piggie who I’ve found has some dandruff. I understand that this could be an indicator that he has lice but he’s not particularly itchy and doesn’t have any bald spots or hair loss. I was just wondering if it’s typical of Texels to have dry skin and dandruff being a long haired breed?

@MilliePigs I think they do. Something about the wavy hair must cause their drier skin. I had a rex pig once and his skin was drier than my others. He also had a mites a couple of times whereast my othera seemed completely fine.

i believe that texels are originally half Rex so maybe the dry skin comes from that
