Dandelions / wish flowers

I’m going to ask this question at the risk of sounding really stupid (it wouldn’t be the first time!). So we know now that Guinea Pigs love Dandylions and luckily have lots in our garden so they have been enjoying all the yellow flowers/leaves stem etc. But over night all of ours have turned into ‘wishing flowers’ with the white puff seed head. Incidentally at the age of 36 I only just realised these two were the same flower . So can the guinea pigs still eat them and the white seeds or only the yellow flowers?

That's a funny post. Kittens and dogs sometimes snap their mouths over the white dandelion heads and then get the little seedy bits stuck in their mouth and don't seem to enjoy it. I don't know about guinea pigs but I wouldn't.

I have never fed the flowers once they’ve turned to seed. They don’t look like they’d taste good and might get stuck up noses?

I think we will give them a miss. I agree they don’t instinctively look like something you would want to eat!
