Junior Guinea Pig
Hi all, long time no see.
So my two boars have always lived inside. But since so far (*fingers crossed*) we've been having a good summer in West Yorkshire, I thought now was a good time to start transitioning them to outside. There are a lot of personal reasons for this, but overall it should result in them getting much more grass time, space, and even attention so it's a good move for everyone.
They're in a double hutch and have a run as well. We're using a basic tarpaulin to put over the hutch in rainy weather and will look at proper thermal hutch covers nearer to winter. Temperature-wise I'm not too concerned -- W Yorkshire is usually not too extreme in that regard -- but it is rainy and I'd like some reassurance that this doesn't create any major health concerns. It seems like the damp would increase odds of things like URIs..? Or am I just being paranoid? Anyone have any issues with keeping piggies outside in this climate?
