I let my piggies on the grass a lot and I noticed today that they suddenly started deliberately picking the heads of the daisies and eating them. I’ve always thought they couldn’t have them so immediately picked them up and picked all the daisies from inside their run so they wouldn’t eat any more of them. But why would my piggies eat something that they couldn’t have? Surely they have instincts or do they not know what they can and can’t have. I also know there are no pesticides being used on the grass or plants in my garden.

They actually can eat a small amount of them - daisies won’t harm them but you just dont want them eating a lot of them.

Also, you cannot assume they definitely wont eat something which could/would harm them.
Many a piggy has found their way to something they shouldn’t at some point whether it be a plant they can’t have (we do see posts of piggies nibbling at toxic plants) or an inedible item such as the rubber strip of a dustpan.
