Daily Veg Confusion

Hi 👋

I give my guinea pig Kiwi about a cup to cup and a half fruit and veg each day (as recommended by our vet) and use this chart ( http://www.guineapigcages.com/food/Veggie-and-Fruit-Charts.pdf ) to help me keep her foods in safe quantities. However lately I’ve been seeing so many contradictions. My chart says strawberries are an almost daily food (1per pig per day) but I’ve seen other sites that say it is really bad for them. I don’t want to hurt my guinea pig, but every site says something different, even this one! If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it! I’m trying to be the best pet parent I can be and feel like I’m failing! (Pictured below my food prep system)78EF754D-E1EB-4B6D-8823-907F03A2534C.webp

Fruit is not really bad for them but it is high in natural sugars and that's why it shouldn't be fed as a regular/daily food

There is so much confusion about feeding piggies out there.
I was so relieved when I found this forum and realised it was full of sensible advice from people with lots of experience and expertise in piggy care.
Now I follow the feeding guides here mostly.

Yes fruit and carrots are really a once or twice a week treat, just a little bit!
Ollie and Tallulah love fruit but they only get a tiny bit chopped up small and hidden in their treat bags full of hay and a handful of oats on cage clean days, like 2 chopped grapes each or 3 blueberries or 3 strawberry tops :)

Most days my piggies get a slice of cucumber and a slice of pepper each plus a small handful of some sort of leaves- we vary the leaves through the week so sometimes they get a babyleaf salad mix, sometimes coriander/cilantro, sometimes parsley, sometimes little gem or romaine lettuce, sometimes spinach, and on grocery shopping day they get a bag of mixed leaf salad with grated beetroot in, that's always a favourite!
