Hi there,
Last night I head to check the piggies and the cyst one has/had on his neck popped.
Look liked it had just happened as he was still on his pillow just chilling with all the gunk hanging out. Cleared him up with warm water and antiseptic, put a cotton pad under his neck and wrapped a gauze round his head, seems to have worked because this morning the hole had closed up, nice clean scab, wiped him down again and put another cotton pad and gauze.
Vet is booked up this week so now just waiting, anything else I can do? or just keep making sure it's clean and wait for my appointment.
I have isolated him in his own pen with towels so no bedding/hay or anything else could effect it.

Thank you.

Keep an eye on it and keep it clean with saline solution.

We do not advise separating them from their cage mate. Please be aware that now you have separated you will have to go through neutral territory reintroduction (you can’t just put him back in the normal cage if they are separated lifer than 24-48 hours). We don’t recommend separating on medical grounds because there is a risk they can refuse to go back together.

I note you say he has towels with no bedding/hay. Does he still have hay available in his cage to eat?

He is close to the his pen partner so he's not 100% isolated, and there sniffing through the bars. Yes he has hay available to him. cage cleaning day and New piggy blankets have turned up today so I will be putting him back tonight as the wound is looking good.
