How sad is it that a piece of our history has gone up in flames I remember going there with my grandparents as a child and Greenwich is a family place for me my great Grandfather worked at Greenwich mean time not sure what its called but he had something to do with keeping the time, my wonderful nan and her twin sister both died in Greenwich hospital and I have a picture of the cutty sark in my bathroom ( sea themed) and of course will be going there next month to see bon Jovi, but i beleive money should be spent on the restoration of it its our history and our past, I cannot believe some moron set it ablaze what a stupid idiot

I don't quite understand hun, whats cutty sark and greenwich? is greenwich a place?

We have a picture of it in the living room too (I'm not into boats as I don't get on with them) but I agree with you Michelle - it's disgusting :tickedoff: Why would someone do that?
About it Ali: http://www.cuttysark.org.uk/

As I can't modify it now - my Dad as he was in the Royal Navy has more than a few photos of boats around the house.

Ali just asked me where she had seen a picture of the cutty sark there is one at her Nan and Grandads. There is some idiots about why do they do thses things :tickedoff:
edit to add Ali how fast can you type ;D

Ironically last Thursday I was at my Nan's works where she works in a charity shop and she was showing me some model of ships that where brand new that the shop was selling and I suggested she bought the model of the Cutty Sark for my Dad..

I haven't watched the news, knew it had happened, but they at the time where not sure it was arson, so they have def said that?

society has really got to do something with these cretins!!

I sent a message to the website saying I hope they restore her back to her magnificent self once again, its wierd we all seem to have pictures of the grand lady on our walls , I am very into historical places and ships etc and think Britain has a lot to offer if only these stupid morons leave them alone, if one of my kids did something so wrong like this I'd be mortified and disgusted with them, fingers crossed they can repair her

There were some pics on the bbc website. Boy were those flames amazing! I hate to imagine how much damage has been done, it looked to engulf the whole thing.

Who ever did it were flippin' eeeejits! :tickedoff:

Has to be said though, I'm quite surprised it hasnt been done before. It's pretty vulnerable to attack. :(
