Cutting Guinea Pig's Fur?

This is by far one of the oddest questions I have ever had to ask, but it is regarding my guinea pig's fur. She looks somewhat like a silkie and her fur looks like it is starting to drag near her bum and getting into things more. Now, this is the odd part... is there a "wrong" way to cut a guinea pig's fur? I've seen some people do just basic trims, while others get more creative with it. Is there any problem with the latter or is it harmless?
 
There’s no wrong way.
I am by no means a hairdresser and my long haired usually looked dreadful after a haircut!
in winter I trim his hair so if doesn’t drag on the floor and then try to do it shorter around his bottom. In summer he gets a cut all over to take off the bulk to help keep him cooler but again concentrating more around his bottom

Ahh okay. I see some people got creative with "lion" cuts and the like and I was somewhat surprised and also amused lol. I just wanted to make sure that going a bit "out there" wouldn't be harmful to them.

As a side note, I've seen pics where owners have coloured their guinea pig's hair and OMG that upsets me so much, even though people comment 'oh it's fine, it's an animal safe colour'.

Priscilla has a much neater fur trim than ever before.

I keep her bum fur short all year and in summer she gets a good trim all over to try and keep her cool.
 
urgh that disgusts me. It honestly makes me want to strangle (ok maybe not) the person that dyed her/him and the person that kept arguing in their defence. (Steal the guinea pig and run). It's such abuse to that poor guinea pig. People really don't care about their pets well-being, do they? I'd like to see them dye their own skin and hair all colours of the rainbow.
Sorry for the mini rant, and threatening to strangle someone, but I'm very upset and angry about this. (And everything like this)

I agree. People are so flippant about a lot of things they do to animals/put animals through for their own pleasure. They always claim others are too sensitive and the animal is fine. Humans are a horrible species 😔
 
I’m sure there’s a way to block those kind of pins.

Not sure but there must be a way to not see certain pins...I’ll let you know if I figure it out. I’ve not been on there as much of late
