Curious about heated sheds

When people talk about their piggies and how they live in a heated shed, how is it heated?

I have been thinking of doing this with my shed but I was worried about the cost, does it make a large impact on the household bills and is your shed insulated in any way?
 
If you have one with a thermostat, it only comes on if the temp drops below what you've got it set at - so I have my oil filled one on overnight in the shed, but it's not always heating. It is quite cost effective, I haven't really noticed my bill go sky high or anything.

My shed isn't insulated - but I would def. do it for my next shed!

We to have an oil filled radiatior and we have insulated the whole of the shed with loft insulation and then boarded it. rolleyesrolleyes
 
Same as Sophie. Hopefully insulate the ceiling before next winter. It is very sturdy thick wood though, so not at all draughty. xx
 
I was thinking about insulation today (odd I know) after collecting my new girls and I was thinking it would be a good idea as the shed is quite drafty meaning that we only use it in the warmer weather. Thanks for that advice I will look into getting it insulated and reboarded.

Here's ours which has been insulated and boarded throughout before the boys moved in rolleyesrolleyes Hope these give you a few ideas :))

Wow that shed looks huge and amazing! Think I will get ours insulated and heated for this year as it will give them a lot more space to run around and will leave our indoor cages free for fostering piggies in need!

That shed does look huge and amazing, I think with a couple of additions rolleyes it would be perfect. :)) xx
