My girls have decided that they don't like cuddles at all lately. They are around 7 months now and have never been overly fond of being handled but recently I have taken to sitting with them in a spot fairly close to their cage. When I pick them up and get settled it only takes them a few minuted to decide to climb down me and chew on the bars of their cage to get back in and them refuse to be picked up again without running away again. Rosie will at least briefly settle in my arms but Rum has taken to pulling at my clothes till she can escape. I am beginning to wonder if i have handled them in a way the didn't like and the won't want handled again 8.... Help

Perhaps try another area not so close to their cage, but close enough so they can go back in without stressing.
Do it calmly have some treaties (aka bribes LOL) and sit their and talk quietly to them, keep mentioning there names and gently stroke them.
I'm sure with some time they'll be ok, but then some piggies are just never lap piggies :{
Good luck don't stress tho, it's nothing you're doing wrong xx>>>

I would cuddle them further away from the cage and turn it a bit more into a play/treats session.

You piggies are now trusting you fully to tell you what they want. Not all piggies are cuddle monsters. I usually don't cuddle mine for all that long; they usually want to go back home fairly soon!

I agree with Glynis and Wiebke. I have one who is not keen on cuddles, but the others seem to love cuddles and some will sit happily with me for a an hour or so. BUT if I sit by their cage and have a cuddle it is short-lived and they look at their cage as if to tell me put me back now.
Try sitting somewhere like the sofa with them, and with some treats. Start off with a few mins and then gradually build up the length of time i'm sure they'll soon come round. Like Glynis said its nothing your doing wrong, some pigs just like to roam free x

Heyoo! I've recently got my two little boys and what I've been doing (As i have a break from uni) is spending alot of time with the piggies, I start with morning reading/talking to them, and leaving my hand flat in the cage with food in my palm..this dd take a while mind you. the piggies are used to my hand now and run ontop/ sit there, I then gently stroke them so they're used to being petted and eventually (Today!) I picked them up with hay on lap so they can keep munching away whilst you pet! Its also a good idea to leave clothes or teddies with your scent near the cage so when you go to pick them up they know your not a threat!Mine have learnt all this within a week however i have spent from morning till night next to them. Hope this helps :)
