Hello, I'm a first time owner and I've had Eddie and Elvis for just under 3 months I think it is now. I'm just wondering how to know if my piggies enjoy being cuddled and stroked.

I'm pretty sure Elvis isn't bothered about being stroked because he moves away and only occasionally allows a stroke of his head. Elvis sits nicely in my arms but I'm not sure if he actually enjoys it or if he's desensitised and just tolerates it because I have to hold him to give him medicine.

Eddie allows quite a bit of stroking on his head and back before he's fed up but I don't know if be enjoys it or just tolerates it. He doesn't enjoy being held and tries to jump out my arms unless I have food but as soon as that's gone he's off.

Is there a way to know if they actually like it and what do you think? Any advice and suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you 🙂

It often depends on the guinea pig. Out of the nine girls we have had probably only 4 really enjoyed being petted and always on their terms. Some of our girls let us touch them in cage others would run off but it from our hands. I let them do want they want really.
It sounds like yours don’t mind to be honest
