Cuddle Cups & Beds? :)

Hi all, I was wondering if any of you could suggest some good websites or places to get cuddle cups and/or little beds from?

I have ordered a few bits from Ziggys Piggies in the past, and I was really pleased with everything.
Oh, and the piggies seem keen too :nod:

But if you can sew (even just a little) there are loads of fabulous You Tube tutorials on how to make your own stuff too.
If you have access to cheap fleece this can save you a fortune.

It certainly helps that the piggies approve :tu: lol.
As for sewing, I'm not too bad but we don't have a machine at the moment (May have to drop that one into conversation with my other half lol).
 
I am not that good at sewing but thought I would get a machine and have a go - I researched and got one that could cope with thick fabrics/layers which makes it easier to sew. (That's if you decide to go down that route ) Otherwise the ones on the websites already suggested look really good - they seem able to get some really snazzy fabrics :nod: Also I've found car boot sales can be good for finding cheap fleece and cotton mattress protectors (just give them a really hot wash)

I never thought of mattress protectors, do u put them under fleece?
 
Lol! I first got one of those beds 4 years ago when benson and stan were babies. The reason being . . I had a 4 year old very pink and girlie daughter who had really wanted girl piggies but we could only get boars. And they were both grey (dullsville!)

So to pretty up the cage we put in a pink fleece and one of these beds. I thought it was the most ridiculous thing when i got it but benson and stan both loved it and it was squabble squabble over the one bed!

I ordered another and they were SO well used. Even when there is a mountain of meadow hay to snuggle into, the beds were the biggest hit.

They wash great in the machine too but after about 3 years of constant use and washing they were a bit bust so i ordered two new ones. (Shown in the pic) hopefully they will do another 3 years.

StanS sadly no longer with us but i must find a pic of him on the bed - he used to put his head on the pillow and stretch out. So sweet!

This thread has been really helpful & their are some very kind people on this forum :)
How do you find washing them? We have snuggle sacks and it's the cuddle cups/beds I'm really wanting to get for them. I was thinking of trying to get a wash bag or maybe a pillow case?
 
I think a pillow case or wash bag probably would be the best idea but all i do is get my fleeces, beds, and cosies and just chuck them in together on a 60 degree quick wash. They seem to survive this lack of care and so does my wonderful washing machine! 18 years old and still works great!

Yes, every day at the moment as it's only been a month. He was bold and super cuddly and friendly whereas benson and wee mike are much quieter.

Stan was, quite literally, in your face

I am sorry for your loss :(
Hopefully time will help you heal and you will have the lovely memories he gave you. You obviously gave him a lot of love and care :)
 
Aw thanks. That's kind of you to say. Yes stan sure was a big character. Benson and stan haven't got his confidence and i do miss him lots because he was actually desperate to come out of his cage and onto our laps. He just loved attention.

When i read about so many others on this forum and their character ful pigs, it gives me hope that one day i will have another pig as bold as stan

You put a lot of love and effort with your piggies, and people can see that.
I believe that in itself will pay off in the end :D
 
My new items from snoozies cosies just arrived. After the corn on the cob experience benson and mike are a bit wary of all these new items in their cage!20160630_132333.webp
