Crying?

My new guinea pig has been making this noise i dont think its popcorning but its a very VERY high pitched squek does anyone know what it is?

I believe it's scared, or wants food...

well I'm not surprised that its scared cause i got it yesterday. i think its squealing but I'm still not sure and their was food in the bowl.

sounds like he/she is scared. are they very young and/or alone? if so, this is probably why.

eta: could be shouting for mum possibly? or a friend.

he is about 10 months old and alone for now. I'm trying bond him to my other male.

hopefully he just needs time to settle then. and having a friend should help. are they living nearby each other for now? living side by side so they can interact through the bars might help for now until you bond them

yup they are live side by side they cummunicate with each other by sounds!

One of mine squeals sometimes, i think she trying to tell the other female she is being submissive as it only happens when she's being pushed around a bit.
