Tex,male piggy, has made a crying noise when he goes to have a wee. When I picked him up ,he was wet underneath, which I bathed straightaway.Would this be cystitis? Is there anything that I can do?I will get an appointment with the vet hopefully tomorrow but my faith in them is going after what Spice has been through.Any help would be appreciated...thanks.

It does sound like a urinary infection so the piggy probably will need a course of Septrin, which means vet I am afraid.Use a vetbed(you probably are anyway)to keep Tex dry.Wash his genital areas at least twice a day and apply a barrier cream such as Bepanthen(this is the best) or Sudacrem or even vasaline if you do not have the others.Apply this also to the pads to stop them getting sore from urine scold.

Give him plenty of water by syringe to keep the bladder flushed through. You could also give him some cranberry juice, but get a brand that does not contain sweeteners.

Before you go to the vet try and obtain a urine sample to be tested for bacteria.
