Morning, when doing my spot clean this morning I noticed a clump of Kevin's hair with a flaky/crispy white scab on the end.
I've taken now brushed him and examined him and its located to one area of skin with this crispy/flaky white stuff and I have no clue what it could be. He appears fine withing himself and has nothing on his body anywhere else.20230924_101729.webp

Hi, my Erika once lost a couple of clumps of fur with skin stuck to the end of the tufts. I took her to the vet who couldn’t find anything wrong and put it down to her over grooming and advised us to just keep an eye on her. It could just be a one off or it could be the beginnings of a fungal infection. I’d keep an eye on him and take him to the vets for a check up if you find anymore tufts with flakes x

Hi

I agree. At this moment, all you can do is monitor and see whether it remains a one-off or develops into a bald spot with fungal crusts. Unless you have a better inkling what you are actually up against, it is better not to cream etc. on spec since you can wipe out any potential markers. Hopefully it is just one of these things. I have had the odd one and usually nothing has come of it.

Thank you both for the help/advice. I'll keep an eye on him and the area and hope it remains contained and eases on its own. If not I'll have my vet check him over
