Hi! First time posting, sorry if I do anything wrong! Not very good at these things! Haha.

I have 2 piggies, Matt and Jeff! Today I noticed between their nostrils, mainly Matt, it has like a yellow crusty strip! I did not notice this yesterday during cuddle time and neither did my partner, wondering if anyone may know what this is and what I can do to help them?

Here are photos of their snoots and the crusty bits!

This is Jeff, to me it looks like there is a slight bit of crusty stuff on his nose! Also, Jeff does seem to sneeze now and then, never known it to cause him any problems, like no runny nose or anything, not that I have noticed anyway.

Also, they are around 5/6 months old if that helps!
Thanks my fellow piggie lovers!

My old guinea pig used to get a crusty nose when he had food stuck in his teeth. The vet said it caused a build up of bacteria on his lip which caused the scabs/sores. We treated it with antibiotics but they didn't really do much. I used to check his teeth every day and pull out any food lodged at the top which seemed to help.

My guinea pig has had this twice ,my vet recommend to put a tiny bit of Vaseline on it, and it cleared it up for me

Awh poor piggy. I wonder if this could be the case with my boys, I'll keep an eye out for any lodged food! Hopefully will clear up if not a trip to the vets on payday!
Thanks for getting back to me!

My georgie had a fungal stripe on his actual nose and the vet prescribed a fungal cream.I did apply it initially then lost it but luckily it went away on its own.
