Hi!
My guinea pig is called Wizzy he is 4 years old and very shy. He has developed a crusty eye - not sure how to upload a photo. This is a hard white crumb like substance stuck hard to his fur around his right eye. After a bit the hair drops off and leaves clean pink skin.
We bathe it with warm water to remove the crusts and have previously applied Hypermellose eye drops followed by a tiny bit of Miconazole cream on the fur because one forum suggested it might be a fungal infection.
He does not have a back foot on his right side so cannot scratch his eye only with his front paw. He is in very good health otherwise and eats everything we give him he particularly enjoys the "G word" WHEEK Wheek! (Grass) and Harringtons nibbles plus regular veg. We do not give him too much apple or tomato as this tend to give him a sore mouth.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

Please dont apply anything to or around the eye without consulting a vet.
A fungal infection always require a vet diagnosis and prescribed treatment.
