Since we got Gloria over 6 months ago, twice we have noticed her lying down and crawling with her front legs, or rolling her bottom half onto her back so her back legs were kind of in the air.

Both times we have panicked and thought she had injured herself or something and that her legs were broken or paralysed.

But after about 1/2 minutes she has gotten up (both times) and just carried on like normal, Ive always gotten her out and checked her over and she didnt show any discomfort with me touching her legs so she couldnt have been in pain.

Has anybode else pigs ever done this? Its almost like a momentary loss of movement in her back legs.

I've never heard of this so can't help you, I'm afraid, but I do hope that it doesn't happen again. Sounds really scary to see!

I think you might get a better response in the Health & Illness section so I'd post there. Good luck!

It was scary, we went into total panic and then she just jumped up and went bounding around! Its almost like she knew what she was doing and just wanted to scare us haha She is a naughty little piggie sometimes, I wouldnt put it past her!

Maybe it's neurological?
I'm sure some of our more knowledgeable people will help you or give you an idea :)
She sounds like an absolute darling tho x)x)x)
I wonder if she has like mini mals? or mini somethings? :{

I agree with Glynis that it could be a neurological or musculoskeletal issue, possibly caused from an old injury. On the other hand, there is the possibility that it is diet related.

Are you aware of Gloria's histroy? What do you feed your cavies? Otherwise, does she appear healthy? Also, what was the time period between the two episodes? Any other information that may be of help would be greatly appreciated.

However, if you are concerned, I would advise you seek veterinary advice.
