my pig used to eat too fast and get choked. it happened like a week ago, he's eating cucumber, choking and coughing several times but then it stopped. few days later he starts coughing again at night i think it's because he's eating hay too fast again, and in the morning he makes that crackling sound. but he's all fine!
no discharge, still active, eating good. he's already in baytril treatment for 3days. but the crackling sound still there but not as loud as the first time he got it. how long baytril usually show the effect?

just take him to the silent room and it still pretty loud crackling sound i think

The only way to know whether he has a URI is for a vet to listen to his chest. We can’t know.

Any cracking from the chest is a potential sign of a URI which would require longer than 3 days of antibiotics.

there is no constant coughing & sneezing. he usually just coughing when he's choked. and i think that noises come from his nose

Coughing and sneezing is not necessarily a first sign of a URI. Crackling from the chest is a sign of a potential URI.

Why is he on the antibiotics?
If he is coughing purely because he is eating too fast antibiotics aren’t going to do anything

Deffinitley get him seen at the vet so they can check the chest etc if you’ve not done that already.
My poppy used to honk occasionally but after lots of tests and vet visits it was deemed normal for her. A few weeks ago my honey kept choking after eating and the vet found what she thought was a sore inside her mouth. It’s important to get these things checked especially when they’re happening consistently. Xx
