As of today, boys have officially completed their 6 week wait and we‘re all set to bond them with the girls on Saturday. I‘m planning to set up Buttons & Cornelius in our playpen with no hideys and a pile of hay in the middle. Buttons is a very shy piggy and not very comfortable with being out in the open with no place to take cover. To make her feel a little safer I was contemplating covering the run with a sheet or similar. I‘d still be able to see in from the side to check on them. Would that be ok to do or would that interfere with the bonding process in any way?

That sounds ok to me, it will be less stressful for the piggies. Good luck, I hope it goes really well, updates please. 😁

I usually part cover the run with a blanket when I'm doing a bonding. I find most piggies are happier that way especially when they don't have any hides in with them in the first stage.
