I was using tiles to sit on top of the run to stop the top from being slid off by cats or crows but came across these in Poundland and they are great - they are spring catches so you can screw them in around the frame and voila! no more having to tie on/weigh down the top! I also put some on the lid of the shelter they have so cats or crows can't open that either.
nicely demonstrated by my cat who has given up!
And also, if you are like me and keep loosing the wire for the bottle or cant attach it properly depending on cage bar width here is my solution - giant hairband from Asda (think about £1.20 for 6 or something) its great - just thread through the bars then look over the bottle a couple of times and the bottle stays put.
I am sure you all have done this years ago, but I feel very please with myself!
