If this is designed for hens to peck at the base (the little yellow bit) which releases water out into the reservoir then I don’t think piggies would be able to do this?

my quail had this and it was really good no drips. i have an ordinary bottle but some times it leaks.

I would not recommend using a bird water feeder for a guinea pig. Guinea pig's need to be able to suck the water out of the bottle in good amounts. I know that water bottle leaks can be frustrating but its a small price to pay for happy guinea pigs. :)
You could replace the water bottle and see if it was just that particular water botttle, though.

would it not be natural for them to slurp water, in the wild they would not have a bottle. i know most people use a bottle,. my chickens prefer to drink from a big water bowl and i know factory farm chicken are forced to drink from nipples. i was trying to make it easier for the guinea pigs, just a thought maybe i am wrong. they have a bottle at the moment.

There is a sippy bottle that is aimed at guinea pigs and is lever based which you might want to try. I brought one but ended up getting rid as my piggies wouldn't use it. It didn't leak though

thank you, do you know what site you got it from, i would like to try one for them, as these guinea pigs are still young they might take to it.

It's the ferplast ones and I think several places sell them. Mine was through Amazon as I have prime so could get it quickly

I thought my water bottles were leaking until one day I was sitting watching peanut drinking. Nope they don't leak,............ He takes in so much water it squirts out the sides of his mouth and runs down his moustache. XD now I put a rolled up towel underneath their bottle drip pad which I change every 2nd day. Lol

Guinea pigs can and will slurp water, however, it does take a while for them to get the amount of water needed because they can only dip there lips into the water. In the wild a guinea pig's system is quite different as they have systems that can tolerate a lot of veggies, which they get water from. Remember that these guinea pigs are domesticated.
