Hi there,

We are in Scotland and last night when bringing the hutch hugger down I noticed a real nip in the air!
The girls will go in the garage over winter however I’m wondering if I should buy a couple of cosies for them just now. I’m using the wood pulp and hay combo at the minute so I’m thinking it’s going to be messy? They’ve got the stick house things to coorie into but they don’t really share those they hang out in their own ones during the day even tho the hutch is opened out into the run
Any advice would be fab thanks, I might just be worrying too much! X

i definitely would get some cosy places for them. I will be buying some fleece snuggle sacks for my boys ready for when it gets cold.

We got a couple of fleecy hidey tubes and pigloos out last night as its quite chilly this week! As long as the weather isnt freakily hot a lot of piggies prefer a nice fleecy sleeping place, I've ordered loads more fleecy furniture this week to make sure there's one for everybody plus a spare each in the wash before the autumn. If its warm my lot still sleep on top of their fleecy furniture quite a bit.

If you don't have fleece hidies a big pile of hay to snuggle in will do just fine. My boars are indoors but for the first time in weeks the older two were in their hay sleeping this morning, they had burrowed right into it too! Fleece items are pretty but they do get messy with hay and wee, I've had all sorts of fleece beds and tunnels but have found all my piggies prefer sleeping in hay at night.

I always have fleece tunnels in the hutch for my lot. Most of them can fit 2 side by side.

Thanks so much, I’ve topped up hay before putting hutch hugger down. Funny they’ve snuggles up today quite a bit.
after some grass munching they both went into their tunnel & fell asleep! Funny little things
