That's what I used, and my base has lasted about 5 months so far with only minor wear and tear.
 
Ive heard people say it wears quicker, but as its so cheap, if you had to replace it after 6 months it wouldnt be a massive loss. Suppose it would be ok to start out with. If you find it wears down to quickly you can always switch to 4mm? (thats the one I have atm) I so think pigs are more likely to chew the thin one...
 
I'm trying to find 4mm but finding it really difficult. But I've found a builders depot that's close by, I could go and collect but they ony have 2mm.

One thing I'm finding is that the delivery charge is extoritnate, plus they only do weekday delivery, if you want a Saturday delivery it's £30....!

I'm in London, called 3 local sign shops and just been laughed at pratically....One guy said, yeah you can have it, at £50 per sheet!! Apparently that's how much he could sell it for cutting it down into smaller pieces. Why doesn't he just order more in and make like a £10 profit from me? Idiot! duhhhh mallethead

I didnt realise it was quite that much, but to be honest, its still not that bad, because its a big sheet. I got mine from B&Q. Was about 9pounds per sheet, but I needed quite a few, cause they were only just over a meter long. Depends how big your cage is and how high you want thw sides. Try your local B&Q. Its in the roofing section and its called corotherm. They so thick massive sheets aswell. May be worth checking out...
 
Humfred's are 4ft x 8ft = 32 square feet.

Yours are 4ft x 4ft = 16 square feet.
 
It took me a second to work that one out, but youre right, that is half the size xx>>> My maths isnt very good.lol. For a second the 1.20 by 0.60 thing made sense in my head.
 
It is also worth noting that is the Flame Retardant option that www.protection.co.uk sell. Check out the Non-FR options and they are nearly half the price when ordered in single sheets. Unfortunately there isn't a 4mm non FR option at the moment but here is a link to the 3mm which I used on my piggies cage and it works out great and only £5.07 a sheet which is well under £20 including delivery. http://www.protection.co.uk/products/proplex-3mm-surface-protection-plastic-sheeting

There are various other grades of thickness including 5mm if you need it really robust but for this 3mm should do fine.
