Hi!
I’m hoping I’ve posted this in the right place!
My Guinea pigs live outdoors in a wooden hutch. I’ve put vinyl down and they also have fleece liners. I spot clean once a day and do a proper clean every other day- there’s 4 of them so that’s a lot of poop!

They seem to have a couple of areas where they like to do their “business” more than others- it’s actually leaking through onto my patio! (The pee, plus a hefty mountain of poop)

I’m not expecting to littervtrain them but does anyone use corner litter trays to help with the extra pee and poo? I already use a large litter tray for their hay.

Thanks!

(Some pics of them enjoying the lawn)

Thank you! They’ve been living with me just over a month now! They certainly feel like part of the family x

I don't use the corner trays but I do use litter trays with their hay in, I find they do most of their wee and poop in there although not all. line the trays with back to nature or puppy pads and newspaper. Do you use an absorbant layer under your liners like puppy pads or newspaper, I use a mixture of both.

Hi., I have 2 indoor guinea girls who are on fleece. I noticed they had taken to weeing lots in one corner of their pen, so I put a corner litter tray in that spot with a small fleece in it. This has now become their preferred weeing spot which is great as I just change that fleece each day. They also wee quite a lot in their large hay tray! They poo everywhere! Lovely piggies you have!xxxxx

We find that our corner litter trays work brilliantly for the girls (pretty much completely toilet trained with no effort, like 90% of wee and poop in the tray) but not even a little bit for our little boy piggy! He goes wherever the tray isnt. If its in his toilet corner he switches corner. If we fill it with hay he carefully poops just outside the tray. Not one single poop or wee of his has hit the tray in 2 weeks of attempted toilet training!

I use an underbed storage box and a couple of small dog bed plus a corner litter tray on top of shallow grow bag trays. They do a lot of wees in them but still manage to poo and wee in generous amounts on their fleece bedding ...
