Hi everyone, I recently posted about my boy Boomer not eating and having digestive issues. Last Friday night I thought he was doing much better and healing, but the next day his left eye was suddenly bulging, cloudy, and red and his jaw was swollen on the same side. I took him to the vet a couple days later after I got paid and the vet said he had a corneal ulcer, most likely from scratching his own eye during grooming. He also said he had an abscess, and offered to lance it. That was Tuesday, and today his eye is still bulging despite two different eye drop treatments and the area around his wound is swelling. I wanted to know, is this normal during the healing process? Or his is his eye getting worse and is his abscess coming back :( the vet said his teeth looked fine and he doesn’t think it’s dental related but that it could possibly be an issue in the root of the tooth. I’m so lost, I really don’t want to lose my baby but the vet said to monitor his quality of life in the following days

Hi

This is not normal. Please see a vet as soon as possible. You have my sympathy since these things tend to blow up at the worst possible time. It may be retrobulbar abscess (an abscess behind the eye).
