Hello. My amazing boy pig Pickle only has one eye, it's a little bulging and has a central opacity. He has some vision, but it's limited. He has a corresponding head tilt, I was aware of this wonkyness on adoption, the RSPCA will fund enucleation if it becomes necessary.
He's the gentlest, sweetest natured little guy I've ever encountered. Kim is our vet, and thinks it's protruding a little more than a few months ago, so we're monitoring for now.
I've done copious research on possible glaucoma, there's not much out there on tinternet.. There's no retrobular abscess, has anyone else seen or have any experience with such an incongruous eye? I'm an optician, but Guinea eyes are rather different and we can't measure his pressure on our tonometer!
Any feedback very gratefully received! 😁
PS isn't he a dreamboat? 😍

He's gorgeous sorry to hear about his eye. I think @alpacasqueak had a wonky eyed piggie and might be able to help. I'm sure there will be some more experienced piggie people along shortly all I can do is look as his pictures and tell you he's beautiful

Hi, sorry to hear about your little man, he’s gorgeous
I had a piggy who had her eye removed (Jess, right on my avatar) but that was due to an injury and her eyeball had ruptured. I also had a chinchilla called Pedro who had his removed the year before, that was due to a retrobulbar abscess! So other than those guys (and two piggies with cataracts) I haven’t had much experience with other eye issues, sorry!
They were both treated by Simon and Kim at Cat and Rabbit so you’re definitely in the best hands! Hope you can find out what’s going on very soon and he improves! Best of luck!
Hopefully someone will be on with more experience and ideas soon!

What a handsome boy! No experience but wanted to wish you all the best nonetheless.

Aw, he is an absolute Poppet! Gorgeous little man. I have no experience of eye problems but you are in great hands with Kim from the Cat and Rabbit Clinic. Up until last month we used to take Ted up for his dentals with Simon, sadly we lost him just before Christmas due to an unrelated illness 🙁

What a kind bunch you lot are! Thank you all so much. I've not been on the forum for many years, having now left Facebook, I'm back and so pleased to see how active and supportive it still is, and has become! 😁
