Hello,
I'm new to Guinea pigs and just looking for a bit of help as to what I can do!
Original plan was to have them indoors however due to circumstances this has now changed and they will have to go outdoors. May be able to bring them inside during winter. But I would be able to move them into a shed of some description during the colder months.
I have an available coop style housing which is on an old shed panel so raided off the ground however this will still get wet. So I'm a bit worried about this and looking for some ideas on how to make this more suitable or whether it is suitable at the moment.
Alternatively I have a 5ft single storey hutch but no cover for this one.
Or I have a 5ft double tier hutch. (Again with no cover)
I'm just looking for advise on which is the best to use (I know it's easiest to say bigger is better as it means more space but if I could adapt the brand new coop style hutch in some way to make it more suitable this would be ideal. (It's brand new and only used for two weeks for my Netherlands dwarf who has sadly passed away.
Thanks

Maybe if you post a pic ppl will be able to suggest more. I've only ever had my cages inside so I'm not the best for this but I'm sure a pic of the possible cage and location would help

The two 5 ft ones are from pets at home.
One is the dandelion den and the other is the rose cottage.
The coop is from feel good uk.
:)

I would steer away from the coop style as usually the enclosed part of it is quite small and, as you say, the bottom bit is open so not suitable at all. One of the 5ft hutches sound better in terms of sizing. Obviously photos will help.

Hopefully someone else with outdoor pigs can give you more info, I only have indoor pigs.

Good luck :)
