Would you fine people recommend them.

As we are getting abit of heatwave

Thanks

It depends whether or not they might chew them tbh as there is gel inside. One of my pigs is a bit of a chewer so we just use stone/marble chopping boards in a cool area that they can sit on/next to if they get too warm :)

I’ve used marble/granite slabs (have loads around with my chin!) but my pigs have never been interested, just pee on them when they pass!
I’ve always found frozen water bottles are preferred by my piggies, can sit next to them if they want to (there’s a sticky to read for other ideas!) and chill out :)

Went into 3 different shops and they didn't have them. Grrrr

Got big slates tho. Give that a try

Hi!

They are one of a potential range of measures in hot weather.

Have a look at these guides here on everything you can do for your piggies during hot weather:
Hot Weather Management and Heat Strokes
The temptation to overfeed watery veg and fruit in hot weather!

Please also be careful when putting your piggies out on the lawn for the first time to make sure that they are used to eating grass.
Feeding Grass And Preparing Your Piggies For Lawn Time

I got pet cooling pad from Amazon last year and put it in a pillow case and my two have never tried eating it but did sleep on it quite a bit. We've had some warm days and I've just put it back in. Last year was very warm so I did also put a frozen water bottle in their cage too that they seemed to like.

I wrapped up freezer cold blocks in old socks last year and my piggies completely ignored them. So I tried the old drinks bottles frozen and wrapped in towels and got the same reaction. :coat:

In hot weather I always put a slate tile in Eddi and Oreo's cage.
Eddi loved it and would lay on it a lot.
Oreo acted like it was going to eat her, and would burrow under a cuddle cup in fear

I got that same reaction from Pippin and Gladys last year!
