i have 2 female pigs in a 120x60 cage on a stand.
good size for two of them, but thought could fit another level in it with a small ramp going up to it.

BUT.. i took in a rescue female yesterday, shes young and i plan to put her in with the other 2 for company.
she came with a 90x60cm cage. and it got me thinking, that instead of another level in the larger cage.
could i convert the 2 cages into one large 2 level cage? cutting an access hole and using the ramp idea, and cable ties?
doubles the living space, and would be great space for them.

has anyone on here converted 2 cages into one larger cage? or does anyone have any links or pics of any?
would be a great help!xx>>>

I don't have any photos and not attempted this but it does sound do-able. Just make sure the ramp's not too steep and they can't fall off. Cable ties are used on c&c's so can be used on your project.

Photos if you do do it please :)

will give it a try, and will give updates!

going to introduce our rescue one to the other two tomorrow in the outdoor run, fingers crossed all goes well!rolleyes

We have three cages connected to one another, they are Nero style cages, and we connected them by removing the side grids and connecting with a wooden bridge! That works! I have to look for photos though, I have some photos somewhere...
Good luck!

would be soo great if you could have some pics posted! xoxo

need all the help i can get:))

pictures would help alot before i start taking cages apart!:rose

Ok, so here are the pictures:

First, when we had only three piggies, we had two cages joined together by a bridge:

We removed both sides of the cages (can be put together again if needed) and so there was a hole at the side and this was connected by the bridge, as you can see.

When we got Keyla, we added the third cages sideways and added another bridge (the bridge is not on the photo yet, because the photo was taken before we got the bridge, but you can imagine, I hope):

we have introduced all 3 guineas to each other and seem to be getting on great!
we have built the two separate cages into one two level cage idea with ramps etc, and they love it!

have included some recent pics as well

that is fantastic grrrr, i have modified outside hutches, but never thought about indoor, gives me something to think about lol

looks very good and i am glad your piggies are enjoying their new extended home!

i would even look into going down into another level with another cage, if got one cheap!
could modify and strengthen the stand.
dont know if my partner would agree tho!
took me ages to get him to do this!:))

How did you do it ? I have a spare cage I could use - what a great idea !

Did you just cut a whole in the bottom of the second cage and make a ramp ?
