Hello everyone, I'm new to this site :)

I've notice some quite contradictory behaviour when I'm handling my beautiful boyz - hence my name.

I adopted them from an owner who could no longer look after them and they were quite timid and nervous when they came to me as their new owner.

Now they never run from me or flinch when I stroke or touch them.

However, when they lay on my lap they often combine noises and body language that demonstrate they are relaxed... but also gently chatter their teeth.

I thought teeth chattering meant they were angry. But that's so contradictory to their other behaviour at the time?

Thank you.

Hello and welcome!

Have you noticed that they chatter their teeth when you touch them in a certain place or in a certain way? I have a piggy who does this - he's fine and relaxed - lounging even! - but he softly chatters his teeth if I touch him near the back legs. I don't think he's angry as such, but is maybe just telling me 'not there!' or 'up a bit!'. :)

^ That's interesting. Thank you for replying.
