If I have Barlo out on his own for lap time, he's silent other than a few little wheeks when he wants to go back to his cage. When Barnaby is out with him, it's a constant stream of non stop chatter. Anyone know why? He seems more nervous too. Sometimes he gets so close to Barnaby like he wants to be completely hidden by him. It just seems odd when he's perfectly fine by himself.

Funnily enough, Barnaby seems more settled with Barlo there and will pretty much settle down to go to sleep really quickly.

Any ideas?

Depending on what kind of wheeking he makes it could be that actually he is not comfortable with the other there. His silence could mean he is a bit scared . Try having lap time next to the cage so they can still talk and see how that works out
Hope this helps?!

The chatter is partly due to him being out of his comfort zone and "on the way". It is what vulnerable youngsters do when on the way of the group and not always in sight; it keeps the group alerted of his status and whereabouts.

Gibe them time to get their confidence. That is a slow process. Piggies are at their most vocal in the first months of their lives when they are active, but not yet experienced in spotting dangers.

It is actually an encouraging sign that your boy is so vocal because it means that he has settled in enough now to not feel like he is in dangerous and potentially hostile territory anymore.
