Sherbie

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone elses pigs have ever done this. Sherbie has started squeaking constantly, especially if he is being touched, groomed or held. I know that mites can sometimes be a cause for discomfort so all four boys are due for a bath and mite treatment tonight but I'm wondering if there could be any other reason for it?

I've checked him over for injuries and have found nothing, and when he is out of his hutch he just wants to sit with my 8 year old daughter instead of his usual adventurous antics, could he possibly be poorly? I'm getting quite worried about him, he's usually so boisterous :(

Oh dear :( I'm not sure as my piggies sometimes squeak loads when I am stroking them but they do like to be stroked. What sort of squeaking is it? If I were you, I'd give him a bath as planned just in case and then if he doesn't improve, I'd suggest a trip to the vets as guinea pigs can hide illnesses very well. It could just be that he likes being stroked xx

The squeaking is not very loud but is different to his "I see veggies....gimmee veggies!" wheeking. He has never done it until recently and he is about 6 months old now. I might be worrying about nothing, but I think I will take your advice and see how he after a pampering session and ivermectin. Of course my daughter is loving all the extra Sherbie snuggles, bless her!

Could he be muttering my boar is always squeaking to himself, and my girls hate anywere except there head been touched and whine and fidget...

yes it is a very little squeak, it's quite cute really :))

he starts as soon as I pick him up.
