In the next month or so I am planning on rearranging my girls cage and hopefully building in a loft even though it's a commercial cage :)
This got me thinking about switching from Fitch which I like and have only been using for not even 2 months but after seeing people's cage with all the cool fleece designs you get I would like to try it!

Does anyone have any recommendations? I would like a decent fleece liner in a nice fleece design too. I found C&E cosies and they do one for my cage at £27 and obviously I'd need to buy 2 but I couldn't find their fleece designs :/

Also, do I need to put something underneath the liners like puppy pads even with the absorbent layer in the liner?

I do indeed highly recommend the lovely Ziggy :)
Just type in Ziggy's Piggies.
I have two cage liners, for the first few washes you'll need just some newspaper underneath... after that no longer need any newspaper or anything, just the fleece :)

Thanks, I have just had a look and they look good. They are around the same price as C&E cosies for my size of cage I think. I have noticed C&E use something called 'zorb' which makes them really absorbable. would the ones from Ziggy's be just as absorbable do you think?
How often do you change yours?

I change twice a week, but I'm a clean freak haha. They ony really need to be changed once a week. You can always ask her what she uses? :)

Ok that's fine. I change every week at the mo, sometimes every 4/5 days depending on my schedule so twice a week wouldn't bother me! I will give her a message, thanks!

out of interest I have two adult boars, would their pee/poop smell more? Please don't let my boys know I asked that, they would be so hurt! :shh::D

Well my one boar in there doesn't smell, with two may just need the twice a week cleaning! :)

okay, so I can rule that out if they get a bath then!

I must do more research into fleece - does the thickness make a difference? I have plush BM fleece and also a flat fleece pet blanket I have tried - what do the liners do underneath that puppy pads don't - sorry for all the questions! :))

Cage liners have to absorbent stuff in them :) I don't really know but my old b&m fleeces always stunk!

this gives me hope - I want to make sure I get this right incase my OH gets fed up with the smell and wants them back in the shed - they have only recently come in so need to fix this pronto - going to google Ziggy's Piggies now - you should be on commission! :lol!:

I should, tell her that ;) haha!

Yeah they shouldn't smell too bad, I have a kitten litter tray with carefresh in that I use for there hay and and freezing, helps reduce smell!

Hi there,
I bought fleece liners from Ziggys Piggies formy c&c cage for my two boys. I keep them in the kitchen and have not yet had any smell at all. The boys love it too on their paws. I was them every 1-2 days and they dry quite quickly. Their fur is shiny too without all the dust around.
Highly recommend Ziggy too, as she made my liners to fit perfectly from my choice of fabric and did me a deal as I bought quite a few at once.
X

Ditto Ziggy's Piggies. She made me 4 liners in 2 X 5 size £90 inc p+p, and 12 small liners £40 inc p+p.
As long as you give them a good spin in the machine, they dry quite quickly.
Don't use fabric softener on them.

I placed an order with her today for 2 cage liners and 2 new cuddle cups as don't want to put my old cosies in the newly done up cage haha! I'm excited for them to arrive :D
That's brill! :D

I hope you like them - what fleeces/patterns did you get?

I got one liner in hot pink and another liner in purple polka dots. And for the cuddle cups I got one with purple mini stars and purple fleece inside and the other I got rainbow stripe fabric with hot pink inside :D

Glad I could be of help to you all! :)

also @smileyface:) have fun finding the poo! haha, the leopard print one literally is poo camouflage! haha, it looks great though! :D
The OH said 'it's fun for hours' I think he's exaggerating a tad!

that's a bonus - though it will be the nuggets that are missed that are always the ones the OH will notice first - got to research a good low cost hand held vacuum cleaner now. any recommendations on that most welcome!
