Adult Guinea Pig
Melvin and Parsnips hutch is looking a bit worn, it's only 4-5 years old but is a Lazy Bones one from the garden centre, not as sturdy as Leo my rabbits HAppy Hutch.
During all that summer rain I noticed a couple of weak areas where a little water was seeping in at the top - its in a sheltered area but during some of those torrential spells in July it did catch me out when I was at work and had not left covers on as sunny then we got a short sharp downpour.
They don't need the height that my rabbit hutch has got so I'd look for a typical guinea hutch height as that fits under the window well.
At the moment I've 2 lazy bones identical hutches 1 i use for storage but if I got a new hutch id look to get rid of both I think so I could fit a longer one in as more space is always better!
I had thought about linking the 2 current hutches to give them more space but they would end up 1 in each knowing those two!
I could see about moving one of the lazy bones hutches into the garage - not ideal but maybe needed over winter.
In the ideal world I'd move them inside but i live with my parents and my parents don't want cages around the house and I've already got Artie guinea in my room and 2 hamster cages so can't fit a big enough cage in for Melvin and Parsnip
So would a 5 foot x 2 foot happy hutch be a good bet do you think? Not up to date on what else is out there currently.
Dread to think what the boys will do to a new hutch as they love chewing their hutch!
