Melvin and Parsnips hutch is looking a bit worn, it's only 4-5 years old but is a Lazy Bones one from the garden centre, not as sturdy as Leo my rabbits HAppy Hutch.

During all that summer rain I noticed a couple of weak areas where a little water was seeping in at the top - its in a sheltered area but during some of those torrential spells in July it did catch me out when I was at work and had not left covers on as sunny then we got a short sharp downpour.

They don't need the height that my rabbit hutch has got so I'd look for a typical guinea hutch height as that fits under the window well.

At the moment I've 2 lazy bones identical hutches 1 i use for storage but if I got a new hutch id look to get rid of both I think so I could fit a longer one in as more space is always better!

I had thought about linking the 2 current hutches to give them more space but they would end up 1 in each knowing those two!

I could see about moving one of the lazy bones hutches into the garage - not ideal but maybe needed over winter.

In the ideal world I'd move them inside but i live with my parents and my parents don't want cages around the house and I've already got Artie guinea in my room and 2 hamster cages so can't fit a big enough cage in for Melvin and Parsnip:(

So would a 5 foot x 2 foot happy hutch be a good bet do you think? Not up to date on what else is out there currently.

Dread to think what the boys will do to a new hutch as they love chewing their hutch!

I've been pleased with Leo's bunny happy hutch but could not put it together, my neighbour next door lent me her hubby who's an architect/builder/DIY type so I'll have to borrow him again but they are at their holiday house all summer.

Leo loves his hutch. I'd like to give the boys a new hutch and space not that those 2 cuddly boys move about much unless foods involved!

4 to 5 years is a good time to have a hutch and if your rabbits hutch has lasted longer, I would stick with that company if you are pleased with the quality of Leo's hutch.

I brought a hutch from ebay which I love but it is only 2 years old and the wood has expanded at the bottom so the bottom no longer fits in properly leaving a gap :( I am in the process of buying them a shed to free range in now.

I've only had Leo's happy hutch a year but it's as good as new and he likes it thinking could get matching one. They don't need rabbit hutch height but could do with a new hutch.

This recent weathers taken their toll on the hutches - all those torrential showers in past 2 months when it was too warm to leave covers on caught me out.

They would last another winter, but I'm not planning on taking on more outdoor guineas so only use the spare one as storage.

Friends said stick to current set up and when Leo bunny goes move the guineas into his huge hutch! Poor old Leo - he might be 15 and ill but I'm hoping he will carry on a bit more! Don't like anyone rushing him offrolleyes:(:(

Wow 15 :) he sounds perfectly fine to me. :) go with how you feel and not what your friends say you should do. My hutch has taken a battering as well with all the awful weather :( stupid rain!
